Please note we are unable to sponsor this role As a Healthcare Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting our Nursing and Midwifery teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients. Each day will be varied, and you’ll work as part of a dedicated team to provide practical and emotional support to patients and their families. Your duties may include: Assisting patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting Supporting patients with mobility and helping them move safely and comfortably Serving meals and assisting patients with eating and drinking Making and changing beds, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment Engaging with patients and their families, offering reassurance and support Monitoring and reporting changes in a patient’s condition to the nursing team Skills and Personal Attributes To succeed in this role, you should be: Caring, kind, and patient-focused Friendly, approachable, and a good communicator Able to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team Confident to use your initiative when appropriate Well organised, reliable, and adaptable to a busy clinical environment Keen to support patients with personal and emotional needs The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together key health, care, community, and voluntary sector organisations from across our area. Our aim is to work together in partnership to join up health and care services, improving our populations health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities. One such example of this collaborative work is the launch of our HCA Academy, an ICS initiative between Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) to support the incoming Health Care assistant (HCA) workforce. The academy models a ‘one workforce’ cross system approach to the onboarding, induction, education, and experience of Healthcare Assistants. Successful candidates to this role will be able to access the additional support provided by the HCA Academy following their induction with MSEFT.
