An opportunity has arisen for a permanent, part‑time Healthcare Assistant or Phlebotomist at North Petherton Surgery (near Bridgwater), part of Symphony Healthcare Services and the North Sedgemoor Primary Care Network. Approximately 16 hours per week are available, with days and times agreed at interview; pay starts at £12.65 per hour for phlebotomists or £12.69 per hour for HCAs. Working under the supervision of the Practice Nurse and to agreed practice protocols, your duties will include new patient and NHS health checks, pre‑diabetes reviews with lifestyle advice and referrals, point‑of‑care testing (eg cholesterol, HbA1c), ECG/INR recording, blood‑pressure monitoring including issuing home BP monitors, and phlebotomy. The role suits experienced HCAs or qualified phlebotomists (GCSEs in English and Maths, NVQ Level 2 and Care Certificate desirable; NVQ3/HCA training and phlebotomy qualifications advantageous) who are confident with IT, patient confidentiality and working flexibly across sites; a DBS check is required.

This position is ideal for carers — particularly women seeking predictable part‑time hours and a supportive primary‑care setting where clinical skills make a real difference.
