Job description
Play a vital role on the inpatient ward at Practice Plus Group in Shepton Mallet, BA4. As a Healthcare Assistant you'll support patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition and recovery, record observations (temperature, pulse, blood pressure), assist with investigations and procedures, keep the ward safe and welcoming, update care records and help with light administration. This is a hands-on, patient-focused role working alongside nurses and clinicians in a 24/7 service.
This vacancy is ideal for experienced carers — from care homes, homecare or family caring backgrounds — who are calm, organised and kind. The post is permanent, full-time, pays £25,105 pa, includes 25 days annual leave (increasing), bank holidays, wellbeing benefits and training to build your skills. Shift rota includes day shifts (07:00–19:30), occasional nights (19:00–07:30), weekends and bank holidays, with flexible options to fit other commitments.
