As a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant (HCA), your primary duties will include:
- Delivering high-quality care to patients, attending to their physical, emotional, and mental well-being at all times
- Supporting patients with daily activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Working under the guidance and supervision of a Mental Health Nurse to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients
- Observing and recording changes in patient conditions and reporting them to the relevant healthcare professional
- Monitoring patient progress and assisting with the administration of medication, while keeping accurate and detailed records
- Following healthcare protocols and policies to ensure patient safety and well-being
- Supporting patients in rehabilitation programmes, encouraging independence and promoting the best possible outcomes
- Maintaining a safe, hygienic, and conducive environment for patients
- Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following essential criteria:
- Valid UK Visa: You must hold a valid UK visa that allows you to work more than 20 hours per week
- In-date UK DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check: You must have a current and up-to-date DBS to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare standards
- Practical Training: You must have completed the following practical training:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Manual Handling
- Fire Safety
- Conflict Resolution
- Hepatitis B
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- BCG (Tuberculosis)
- COVID-19
