Job description
Healthcare Support Worker - HMP Hull (Band 3) with Spectrum Community Health CIC in Hull (HU9). Permanent, full‑time role paying £24,937–£26,598 a year under Agenda for Change Band 3. You’ll work in a supportive multi‑disciplinary team alongside nurses, paramedics, pharmacy and therapy colleagues to deliver hands‑on care for people with complex needs in a custodial healthcare setting. Core duties include assisting with medication administration, running clinical support worker‑led clinics (NHS health checks, phlebotomy, ECGs and QOF reviews), reception screening on arrival, sexual health and blood‑borne virus screening, supporting emergency care, promoting health and working across substance misuse services.
This vacancy is well suited to experienced healthcare support workers, carers, final‑year nursing students or anyone with NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and experience of working with mental health, addiction or long‑term conditions; phlebotomy, ECG and wound care skills are desirable. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.
