Job description
Support sonographers and provide hands-on, patient-centred care across the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust’s Ultrasound Departments. In this Healthcare Support Worker role you will split your time between Pinderfields (Wakefield WF1), Pontefract, Dewsbury, the Wakefield Community Diagnostic Centre and local GP practices, carrying out administrative duties and direct patient care under the direction of registrant staff. Typical duties include chaperoning, escorting and transferring patients, delivering 1:1 or enhanced care for groups of patients, maintaining cleanliness and supplies, and demonstrating tasks to new starters. A reasonable standard of secondary education and basic computer skills are essential; the role involves regular exposure to emotional situations and requires a flexible, compassionate approach. Shifts are daytime between 07:30 and 18:00 across a seven‑day service. This permanent, full‑time post is Band 2 with a salary of £24,465 and is not eligible for Home Office Skilled Worker sponsorship.
