Make a direct, hands-on contribution to patient care as a Higher Healthcare Technical Officer (HHTO) with NHS Blood and Transplant at the Cranmer Terrace Blood Centre in Tooting (SW17). You will process, test, store and prepare blood and blood products for hospital issue, handling blood bags and specialised equipment and performing precise, routine and non‑routine laboratory tasks. The role includes supporting and training less experienced staff, regular manual handling of items up to 13kg (with training and mechanical aids where available), and a selection visit to the Blood Centre so you can see the work first‑hand. Hours are Sunday to Thursday, 14:00–22:00, on a permanent full‑time basis; the role is Band 3, paying £24,937 to £26,598 per annum plus High Cost Area Supplement.
