Based in Rotherham and covering South Yorkshire, this on-site Housing Support Worker role with Nacro sits within the CAS-2 programme (directly commissioned by the Ministry of Justice). You’ll combine hands-on property oversight — ensuring accommodation meets the Decent Homes Standard and managing maintenance — with one-to-one support for low/medium-risk people on bail or eligible for home detention curfew. Day-to-day tasks include assessing individual needs, creating safety plans, helping with housing applications, Housing Benefit and rent matters, and working closely with probation, courts and housing authorities. This is a full-time, permanent post paying £26,584 per annum (base £25,584 + £1,000 unsociable hours), 40 hours per week (including 5 hours paid lunch break), with shift patterns between 08:00–22:00 Monday–Friday and a rolling Saturday rota; exact patterns and flexibility are discussed at interview.

This role is ideal for resilient, emotionally intelligent carers — particularly women seeking meaningful, practical work that fits around family life — who enjoy problem-solving, strong teamwork and adaptable communication. Nacro provides 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, occupational sick pay above statutory levels, mileage at 45p per mile, flexible working (including the ability to work from home between property visits), and training for internal systems. Applicants need a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle with business car insurance, enhanced DBS and prison clearance, and the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship). Candidates with lived experience of the criminal justice system are welcome to apply.
