Post holder would be expected to undertake holistic physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients with complex, life limiting illness as an autonomous practitioner with support from the Senior Physiotherapist.They would contribute to the effective provision of rehabilitation and therapy support within Rennie Grove Peace as a member of the Therapies team with the support of senior physiotherapy colleagues.They would be expected to contribute to patient information groups and courses, e.g. advanced care planning course, breathlessness groups, exercise groups and Living Well.Is passionate about providing high quality support for patients and families/carers through a palliative diagnosis.Fully understands the benefits and evidence base for a rehabilitative approach to palliative care. Interacts with patients and families/carers, with empathy and kindness.Can quickly build trusting, empathetic, and caring relationships with volunteers, customers, employees and head office teams, not forgetting local traders and the community. Is flexible and enjoys the variety of work in a fast-moving environment. Has good interpersonal skills Has strong organisational skills
We're looking for a Physiotherapist (Outpatients / IPU) who will be responsible for undertaking holistic physiotherapy assessments and treatment of patients with complex, life limiting illness as an autonomous practitioner with support from the Senior Physiotherapist.
- You would be expected to contribute to patient information groups and courses, e.g. advanced care planning course, breathlessness groups, exercise groups and Living Well.
- Someone who can contribute to the effective provision of rehabilitation and therapy support within Rennie Grove Peace as a member of the Therapies team with the support of senior physiotherapy colleagues.
- You'll maintain a respectful, non-judgemental and caring attitude ensuring the Rennie Grove Peace vision and philosophy of care is integral to the care delivered and undertaken.
- You'll also act as a Rennie Grove Peace ambassador within the community.
- Further to this you'll be expected to contribute to patient information groups and courses, e.g. advanced care planning course, breathlessness groups, exercise groups and Living Well.
About us
- Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and implementation of therapy intervention for patients with progressive and life-threatening diseases as an autonomous practitioner. This includes using analytical skills, clinical reasoning, and the use of appropriate outcome measures.
- Provide high quality physiotherapy input to optimise non-pharmacological management of symptoms including breathlessness and pain.
- Be a source of expertise, advocating non-pharmacological approaches to symptom control within the interdisciplinary team.
- Contribute to/lead and co-ordinate symptom specific group program such as the advanced care planning course along with colleagues.
- Identify patients with complex clinical needs and draw upon support from the senior physiotherapist to ensure these are best managed.
- Acting as a Rennie Grove Peace ambassador within the community.
- Be a source of physiotherapy expertise and champion rehabilitative palliative care practice across the interdisciplinary team providing advice on managing the patients functional ability and guide discharge planning.
