Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
As a team we work systemically to understand and support the significant impact and challenges experienced by children who are in mental health crisis, and their families.
In order to do this, we work with the network around the child/adult (e.g. RISE, Adult Mental Health, Social Care, Education) and work closely with commissioners. As a speech and language therapist you will have experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working as you will need to attend and chair regular MDTs, CETRs and EMDTs.
As a Speech and Language Therapist you would visit child in their home / at school / in appropriate setting multiple times a week to engage them and carry out our assessments and interventions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen foran enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to be part of our Childrens Intensive Support Team for Coventry and Warwickshire.

The team is a specialist, multi-disciplinary team currently consisting of Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and Nursing.
Main duties of the job:
Clinical assessments
Communication plans
Specialist speech interventions
Reviewing targets
Risk assessments
Autism informed interventions to reduce the risk of an admission due to mental health crisis
Trauma informed practice
Providing individualised training to families and care providers
