Interventional Radiology is an exciting Hi tech speciality and involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, radiographers and radiologists. The post offers many opportunities to develop a nursing career in this technical and interesting field. We care for patients from all different specialities and the work is varied and at times challenging and complex, but very rewarding.
The post is predominantly Monday - Friday 08.30 - 16.30 , you will need to be willing to participate in a paid on call rota for emergency out of hours work.

Main duties of the jobThe role involves the assessment and preparation of patients for procedures, The care of patients undergoing a wide variety of radiological procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic in our Interventional radiology rooms in xray, the hybrid theatre and in the Interventional Radiology Day Unit (IRDU) and the recovery of patients post procedure.
Procedures include Angiogram/ Angioplasty, Embolisation, Fistulaplasty, Vascular Access, Nephrostomies, Ascitic drains, Biopsies and RIGGs.
