Outpatient Network are looking for Healthcare Assistants to help deliver Cardiothoracic Surgery clinics in Coventry & Warwickshire NHS.

  • Patient Care
    : Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, ensuring their comfort and dignity.


  • Monitoring Vital Signs
    : Regularly check and record patients vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.


  • Preparation for Procedures
    : Help prepare the clinic and surgical areas by ensuring that all equipment and supplies are clean, organized, and readily available.


  • Support During Procedures
    : Provide assistance to the clinical team during surgical procedures, including positioning patients and maintaining a sterile environment.


  • Postoperative Care
    : Assist with the monitoring and care of patients in recovery, ensuring their needs are met and providing basic post-operative care.


  • Documentation
    : Maintain accurate records of patient care and observations, ensuring proper communication with the healthcare team.

    to join our cardiothoracic surgery clinic team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to patients and clinical staff, ensuring high-quality care in a fast-paced and specialized environment.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, while promoting their dignity and comfort.
    • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation, promptly reporting any changes to nursing staff.
    • Prepare the clinic and surgical areas by ensuring all equipment and supplies are clean, organized, and ready for use.
    • Support the surgical team during procedures by helping with patient positioning, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing necessary assistance as directed.
    • Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or anxieties before and after surgical procedures.
    • Assist with the postoperative care of patients in recovery, ensuring their comfort and addressing any immediate needs.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, observations, and any changes in condition, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.


    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
    • Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures, particularly in a surgical setting.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and support patients effectively.
    • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or similar is desirable.
