Applications are invited from committed and enthusiastic doctors for the above post. The postholder will support the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service at St Mary's, supported by consultants, and be able to gain experience some of the many specialist services that are offered. This post is ideal for those trainees who have been working in the speciality for several years (including post CCT holders) who now wish to gain experience in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology scanning. There will be scope to develop interest and experience in specialist areas of gynaecology provided at St Marys Hospital. The post holder will be part of the team who are responsible for delivering the multidisciplinary simulation training for the maternity department. It will be a good opportunity for those with an interest in medical education to formalise their teaching experience and underpin it with theoretical course such as a diploma in clinical education. The post holder will be expected to undertake audit and will join in the education programme of the department as well as contributing to the full shift on-call rota which is EWTD compliant (1:9).
A typical weekly timetable will be as follows with an out of hours commitment to general obstetrics & gynaecology which is 1B compliant (usually a 1:9 rota with a split week on call) there is flexibility for this.
