Career Progression pathways and development opportunities:

We are passionate about nurse development and many of our band 5 staff go on to band 6 positions within the team. We offer bespoke eating disorder training including NG training and phlebotomy training. We actively encourage CPD and support nurses to advance their skills, becoming Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Development Nurses and provide training opportunities in psychological therapy. Our teams are enthusiastic about Quality Improvement, we work closely with the QII team to continually improve the care we provide. The successful applicant will be involved in evidence-based treatment and service development opportunities.

If successful, you will have the option of starting on either Avalon ward (adult eating disorder ward) or Wisteria ward (CAMHS eating disorder ward). The successful candidates can decide whether to rotate between Avalon and Wisteria during their contract (subject to vacant post availability at the time) allowing you to gain experience in both adult and CAMHS care.

As a Registered Nurse you provide direct personal care to patients, without direct supervision, and co-ordinate the care given by colleagues.

The role includes leading the delivery of comprehensive service user assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of person-centered care in a collaborative way. The post holder will co-ordinate a first-class service that includes assessment and monitoring of physical health, maintaining service users' rights, supervising junior staff and students, working collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment and accurate records.

  1. Leading on and undertaking activities to ensure that the fundamentals of care are met - nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional and social support.
  2. Coordinating and evaluating collaborative patient-centered care; getting feedback and improving plans with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

  4. Liaising and working positively with members of the multi- disciplinary team and partner organisations.
