Special care & Transitional care Lead Do you feel passionately that keeping mothers and babies together should be the cornerstone to newborn care, then this is the role for you! It is an exciting time for Neonatal services on the Epsom site as we expand to support our maternity colleagues to delivery outstanding Transitional Care (TC). The post holder will lead a team of neonatal nurses, supporting them to work flexibly across the SCBU and TC dependant on service need. Epsom SCBU is a Level 1 unit and is commissioned to provide 6 special care cots. Additionally, SCBU provides level 2 & 3 care as needed prior to transferring out to appropriate centres. Simon Stewart is the co located postnatal ward with the capacity for up to 8 TC cots. If you feel you would like to discuss this rare opportunity more contact me directly as below. The roles key focus is to facilitate the implementation andevaluation of care pathways within Neonatal Transitional Care(NTC). With the objective of keeping mothers and babiestogether where possible, and avoid term admissions to theneonatal unit. It will involve close working with the inpatientNeonatal and Midwifery matron's both strategically andoperationally to meet the BAPM recommendations andframework for neonatal transitional care.
