As a health care support worker, you will be responsible for the provision of person centred care within a supportive environment.
Castle Douglas Hospital is a 16 bedded community hospital providing rehabilitation and palliative care to a range of patients across the region. We also support the Outpatient Antibiotic Therapy Team as required. We are seeking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team on a permanent basis.

As a health care support worker, you will be responsible for the provision of person centred care within a supportive environment. You will be expected to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team. We aim to deliver high quality care always showing respect, compassion and empathy and would be looking for these characteristics from applicants.

This is a 30 hour post and is rotational, covering days and nights. The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly as required to meet service needs. 12 hour shifts or 6 hour shifts would be considered for the right applicant.

This post may involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas therefore a current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
