Brighton & Hove Community CAMHS - BAND 6 - Community Mental Health Nurse Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a Community Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join an enthusiastic CAMHS team in Brighton & Hove

The post is 37.5 hours per week.

This post offers a incentive, or a Relocation package up to a maximum of £4000 (pro rata applies and subject to terms and conditions).

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be working with young people and their families who have been referred into CAMHS via Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service. The post will involve triaging, and undertaking initial assessments and developing risk and care plans with young people.

The post holder will be required to undertake initial assessments for children and young people referred into the service, ensuring safeguarding, risk management and care planning are implemented to the highest standard and at all times that the service offers effective patient-centred care. You will be expected to hold a diverse case load of young people with complex emotional needs which requires significant attention to detail particularly around risk management in the community, thus co-ordinating and working with external agencies such as social care and education etc.

You will be supported by more senior members of the team and offered supervision and reflective practice. You will also have the opportunity to co-facilitate groups and treatment alongside multidisciplinary team colleagues to offer evidenced based care.
