The post holder will one of a team of Associate Directors of R&I, with shared responsibility for the strategic development, management and coordination of the research and innovation activity of the Trust, in the context of national policy initiatives and developments.
The Associate Director of Research & Innovation will work as part of senior leadership team in Research & Innovation to deliver local and national excellence in mental health research. The post holder will oversee all aspects of research and innovation within the Trust. They will provide strategic clinical and academic leadership in further developing the Trusts investment in research and innovation. They will ensure increasing involvement in high quality multi-disciplinary research relevant to the improvement of mental health services and ensuring that research is appropriately integrated into the Trusts service development programmes and governance arrangements. They will lead on the development of collaborations and partnerships with other organisations across Greater Manchester, including NIHR infrastructure, NHS Trusts and HEIs.

Applicants are invited to apply the role of Associate Director of Research & Innovation at Greater Manchester Manchester Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). The successful applicant will be one a team of Associate Directors, providing strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of research and innovation within the Trust.
They will provide clinical and academic leadership, ensuring increasing involvement of GMMH colleagues and service users in high quality multi-disciplinary research that is relevant to the improve of service user outcomes and clinical services.
They will take a lead on the development of external partnerships and collaborations with organisations across Greater Manchester and beyond, including NHS Trusts, HEIs and research infrastructure organisations.
The post is offered for up to 7.5 hours per week, as a fixed term contract for twelve months in the first instance.
