We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor to join our Health Visiting team in Mid Argyll, based in Lochgilphead.

This post is part time, 22.3 hours per week.

We are looking for a Health Visitor who will provide safe, effective, client centred care, who has t knowledge of child protection systems and current developments within Health Visiting.

As the Health Visitor you will promote the well-being of children and their families in accordance with the Universal Health Visiting pathway, utilising the GIRFEC principles and approach to underpin assessment and planning for children and their families.

The Child’s planning process is key to this role.

You will provide an accessible, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective Health Visiting service to the Mid Argyll area. Good IT, communication and organisational skills coupled with the ability to work as part of a team and also be able to work autonomously is required.

It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC . You will have a post registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing, being registered on Part 3 of the NMC register

You should have relevant experience and be able to provide evidence of academic and experiential learning.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
