Main Purpose of the Post

Be responsible for accurately printing and labelling dispensing and non-dispensing repeat prescriptions.

Responsibilities

Print prescriptions for dispensing patients, non-dispensing patients and weekly MDS patients within a timely manner to enable the processing of ordering

Accurately label dispensing patients repeat medication requests

Deal with medication requests from Patients; online requests and paper, hospitals and other external companies

Sorting and Filing invoices

Preparing delivery schedules

General dispensary admin tasks

Regularly check email, Tasks and Messages

Assist Dispensary Manager in prescription management, filing and processing for payment

Ensure that outstanding matters and information are handed over to colleagues at end of shift/day

Be Conversant with Emis, Patient Access and email.

Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

Answer telephone calls in a friendly, polite and professional manner

Develop and maintain good communications skills with colleagues and patients

Be aware of and work within Health & Safety policies relating to maintenance of a safe environment for patients and staff.

To be aware of and adhere to organisational policies and procedures

Maintain strict confidentiality of information relating to patients, their relatives/carers and other members of staff

To be smart, polite and courteous at all times

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly professional to join our non-clinical support team in processing repeat prescription requests. Computer experience is required. We use EMIS clinical system.

Previous experience working in general practice would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

To support the dispensary team by providing clerical and administrative support, ensuring that patients repeat medication requests are processed in line with practice protocols.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the dispensary

Job responsibilities:

To maintain complete confidentiality at all times in matters relating to patients, their carers, practice staff and the business of the practice.

To process repeat prescription requests, adhering to practice protocols and standard operating procedures. This will include requests received by post, email and on-line requests.

You will be responsible for making sure that patients who are taking regular medications for any chronic diseases are up to date with their annual reviews and contacting patients to book when required.

To attend training sessions as required, either in-house or within reasonable travelling distance of the Practice.

Other duties appropriate, to the job role, as delegated from time to time by the line manager

Carry out duties with a positive attitude and approach towards problem solving whilst upholding the aims and objectives of the
