KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Undertake assessments of individuals with complex eating disordered presentations, including those patients presenting with higher levels of risk.2. Develop in collaboration with the patient their care plan and their recovery plan.3. Offer specialist nursing assessment and advice where required.4. Take the lead in delivering therapeutic group work programmes as required.5. Administer medication, complying with relevant Trust procedures and NMC Guidance.6. Ensure the safe management of all patients as determined by the clinical team. This includes the supervision of patients within the hospital, grounds and the community, as required.7. Provide clinical and managerial leadership on the ward.8. Assess and manage ongoing risks as identified during assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with patients and carers.9. Regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.10. Regularly take charge of the clinical environment over a span of duty.11. Work in conjunction with the Service Manager in setting clinical and educational standards and monitor and maintain these standards.12. Regularly undertake audits of clinical activity and standards and develop plans of action to address any improvements required.13. Participate in the on-site Duty Nurse Manager rota; providing out of hours (which will include night working) senior managerial / clinical advice, guidance and support on site. To be the first point of contact for fire, medical and psychiatric emergencies and co-ordinate Section 136 assessments as required.14. The post holder will be required to work within the NMC Code of Practice and professional guidelines.15. Maintain an up-to-date level of professional competence within the specific environment.16. Attend meetings, multi-disciplinary ward reviews and case conferences as necessary and present information relating to patients or the service as necessary. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated and innovative individual to help support our growing team and work alongside our ward manager in maintaining professional and high standards of care to our patients.
We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, and is able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Your role will be to assist and deputise for the Ward Manager in managing the unit. You will be involved daily in the clinical provision of a needs led service, delivering effective evidence based treatment. Applicants will have relevant experience as a Staff Nurse within an in-patient unit.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and assist the Service Manager in the provision of clinical leadership and day to day management of the ward. Be a clinical role model to the team. They will act on behalf of and deputise as directed by the manager in their absence and provide quality evidence based nursing advice, support and care for patients with mental health needs and their carers within a multidisciplinary setting.
