JOB TITLE: Medical Secretary
GRADE: Band 3
LOCATION: Community Paediatrics – St John’s Hospital
HOURS: 20 Hours, Monday to Friday. Availability on Mondays and Fridays preferred, other hours to be confirmed.
CONTRACT DURATION: Fixed Term – 1 Year
As a Medical Secretary you will provide support to Community Paediatricians and Nursing Staff. Community Paediatrics covers a range of specialist services such as Neurodiversity, Child Protection, Children with Complex Care Needs, Looked After Children, and Adoptions and Fostering.
Duties include answering of phones and dealing with patient issues and enquiries, typing of letters and reports, preparing and arranging clinics, G2 audio typing, note taking, setting up meetings and other general office duties. Please see job description for full details.
This role is fully office based at St John’s Hospital in Livingston.

This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
