NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. An opportunity has arisen for a Dietetic Support Worker to support the Rehabilitation Dietetic Team, based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with an interest in nutrition. The successful applicant will work as part of the rehabilitation team supporting a clinical caseload at QEUH and other sites every week. The post holder will work in partnership with dietitians in undertaking tasks that will encourage and assist patients, who are acutely ill, to meet individual nutritional needs. The post holder will work with dietitians to support and contribute to the delivery of patient care. The post holder will also support the planning, delivery and evaluation of nutritional care goals. The service is paper-light, and all records and processes are electronic. IT competence and the ability to work between IT packages is essential. Communication is a core skill for this post; you should be confident in your ability and enjoy communicating with both staff and patients.
