We have an exciting opportunity for a Release & Transfer Administration Coordinator to join the team at HMP Thameside, a category B male remand prison located in London.

This is a fantastic new opportunity to join the Release & Transfer Team - you can really make this role your own! Release and Transfer is a key part of the prisoner journey - ensuring that everything is place for prisoner release back into the community, or transfer to an alternative prison. This includes GP referrals and registration, as well as other healthcare services.   HMP Thameside is a busy remand prison, so we have a high turnover of inmates, which makes for a fast paced, challenging, but exciting environment!  
Hours:
  This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 or 09:00 to 17:00.  
Salary:
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £27000 per annum - depending on experience.

As our new Release & Transfer Administration Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Arranging GP registrations and other healthcare referrals for prisoners who are within 12 weeks of their release 
  • Ensure that referrals are made and all healthcare information is correct ahead of a prisoner transfer to another site 
  • Dealing with patients, healthcare colleagues and other professionals over the phone, face to face and via email, delivering a high level service at all times
  • Provide a high quality admin service to the Release & Transfer team
  • Work closely with the Early Days in Custody Team (EDIC) as well as the wider prison team
  • Arrange and chase hospital appointments, prisoner release and transfers, and arrange appointments for follow on care
