We have an exciting development opportunity for a qualified nurse to join our busy MADU team.

We are looking for a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Medical Acute Dependency Unit.

Main duties of the job

MADU is a 16 bedded unit and has facilities for full cardiac monitoring and non-invasive ventilation. We provide level one and two care to patients with a variety of conditions from GI bleeds, DKA, type 1 and type 2 respiratory failure requiring non-invasive ventilation, Heart failure, severe electrolyte imbalance, central lines and arterial lines monitoring, amongst others.

  • dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills
  • with experience in Respiratory, Acute Medicine or HDU/ITU Nursing
  • with some managerial and team leader experience
  • enthusiasm for caring for acutely ill medical patients.

  • ENB 998 Teaching and assessing course or equivalent Mentorship preparation course.

  • Experience in an HDU environment with experience of caring for patients requiring NIV
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
  • Able to work as an effective team member. Be able to problem solve and demonstrate leadership qualities
