This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their Ophthalmology nursing skills. We are looking for a friendly enthusiastic and hard working nurse with six months experience to work in Ophthalmology clinic. Good interpersonal skills together with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary setting are essential. You will be expected to assist with every day management of patient care, providing comfort, support and information to the patient’s and relatives and ensuring high standards of patient care. You will have opportunity to work in all areas of Ophthalmology.

  • To contribute to the delivery of high standards of practice in all aspects of the service and in clinical skills.
  • To co-ordinate clinical activities and develop clinical expertise through leadership
  • To assist in the smooth running and organisation of the shift team.
  • To rotate through the Ophthalmology Department.
  • To provide assist in the assessment and management of patients with a range of eye conditions who attend Ophthalmology Department
  • To ensure high quality patient care is delivered and take appropriate steps if this is not the case
  • To participating in the delivery and organisation of formal and informal teaching
  • To participate in activities/projects which contribute to the provision and delivery of evidence-base practise.
  • To provide health education and advice.
