We are looking for Waking Support Workers to join us on a permanent and part time basis.



Actual shift patterns will be discussed with you at the interview. Shift times are typically 22:00 - 08:00.

Our Service & The People We Support


Are you a person who likes variety in their work, knowing each day will be different to the last? Our Bishopthorpe service is a six bed bungalow, supporting two females and four males between the ages of 25-80 years of age. They require a patient staff team who are enthusiastic, caring and compassionate.

The people we support at our service all lead very sociable lives. They love to go out into the community regularly and enjoy day trips out.

The people we support are very creative and enjoy arts and crafts sessions daily, all of their hard work is displayed around the home. The people we support choose a range of activities they enjoy being involved in. Some typical examples are trips out to the seaside to enjoy some fish and chips, days out to the cinema and theatre as they love musicals, going to the farm and the zoo as they have a love for animals. We also have one particular person who has a passion for trains.


What does a Waking Night Support Worker do?


As a Waking Night Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

  • Personal care supporting individuals to bed at their chosen time, carrying out regular checks and supporting them with toileting as required.
  • Light household tasks as the people we support sleep such as ironing, cleaning, updating supported offered on our digital systems.
  • Ensuring the safety of the house is maintained.
  • Getting the people we support ready for the day ahead.
  • Ensuring the home of the people we support is clean and tidy.
  • Supporting people to be safe overnight and meeting their health needs
