Job Purpose
To assist in providing a high-quality cleaning and maintenance service within hostels and supported housing within Cardiff. Responsibilities include daily reporting of repairs, fly-tipping, and anti-social behavior issues, ensuring a safe and clean living environment for residents.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality cleaning service within hostels and supported housing.
- Perform all duties in accordance with service area and corporate policies and procedures.
- Follow risk assessments and ensure tasks are carried out safely, including the safe operation of council vehicles.
- Promptly report repairs and any disturbances of asbestos to the Community Action Supervisor.
- Assist in cleaning and clearing properties and communal areas using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain routine documentation, including daily defect book, driver’s daily return forms, and other transport documentation.
- Contribute to meeting work targets and objectives as part of the Caretaking Services Team.
- Assist in the operation and development of quality systems adopted by the service area.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others, complying with all relevant health and safety legislation.

Essential Requirements:
- Education & Training:
- A good standard of education or the ability to demonstrate competence through experience.
- Experience/Knowledge:
- Experience using new technology.
- Experience working with customers.
- Experience working in a housing-related environment.
- Experience dealing with vacant properties.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work as part of a team, showing a willingness to assist others and a commitment to meeting team objectives.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Ability to follow instructions and be aware of Health and Safety issues while carrying out tasks.
- Special Circumstances:
- A full and valid driving licence.
- Ability to drive a council vehicle.
