Band 5: £35,964 to £43,780 a year per annum Incl HCAS  PERMANENT 

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care throughappropriate frameworks, including safe effective arrangements fordischarge, underpinned by Trust values.
  • Assist members of the team in the co-ordination of the clinical activities.
  • Use clinical standards to participate in the process of monitoring thequality of care delivered. Act to ensure that nursing practice is of thehighest standard, in line with Trust and CQC standards.

  • Supply and/or administer medication safely in line with Trust medicinespolicy.
  • Assess and support patients with adherence and understanding of theirmedication.
  • Advise on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the education of the patient andtheir significant others.
  • Assist with the evaluation of care and initiate any action required, forexample liaising with the multidisciplinary team of doctors as appropriate.
  • Review the effectiveness of the nursing care provided and initiate anyaction that may be required.
  • Undertake any reasonable and relevant clinical or non-clinical functionscommensurate with their banding.
  • Recognise and act on situations that may be detrimental to the health andwell-being of the individual.
  • Co-ordinate and support other members of the caring team who may beresponsible for implementing specific aspects of nursing care.

Training would be supported through a competency framework.The department provides a full range of Dermatology services including nurse led services such as Topical treatments and complex wound management, Phototherapy, Patch Testing, Iontophoresis , and Photodynamic Therapy. The service also provides Dermatological surgery including Minor Operations and MOH's surgery, for the management and support of patients on cancer pathways. You will work alongside an experienced multi-professional team in providing holistic nursing care to clients with a wide range of dermatological conditions. We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic, motivated and most importantly demonstrates a compassionate attitude and a commitment to delivering high quality care.

  • To deliver high quality care to patients within all areas of Dermatology Outpatients, working in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines, whilst also being aware of the importance of their role in supporting members of the team and always adhering to the Trust values, and in accordance with NMC regulations.
  • Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge.
  • To be able to work both autonomously, and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of care to patients within the Dermatology Outpatients setting.
  • Communicate in line with Trust values, to patients, carers' and staff at all times.
  • Take every opportunity to continue to develop, practice and expand their own general and specialist nursing skills.
