Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new organisational structure under a new management system. You will work as part of a new outward facing Primary Care Team in an organic culture, embracing change and flexibility within the new Gordon Street surgery site.

You will be directly line managed by the Nurse Lead and work as part of the nursing team to ensure that patients have the best Health Care journey possible.

Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

You will use various IT systems including GP IT system eg EMIS/System One and will be confident in engaging with all other providers. Where you have identified training needs these will be fully supported by the ESPCN Community manager and management team.

You will also work in partnership with the acute clinical teams, to ensure thepatient journey is seamless and as efficient as it possibly can be.

The HCAs main responsibilities are:

ECG recording

Phlebotomy

Chronic disease monitoring including blood pressure checks and diabetic foot checks

Wound care including suture removal

Ear Syringing

H-pylori Testing

NHS Health Checks

Vaccinations and B12 injections
