About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Audiologist to join the team on a sessional basis. As an Audiologist you will undertake hearing assessment of adults of all ages, cover all routine aspects of audiometric testing as well as conducting hearing aid assessment, fitting, validation and ongoing support of adults and families.
About usWe are looking for someone who can: Undertake hearing assessment of adults of all ages. This to include history taking and discussion with patient and/or caregiver as required. Undertake all routine aspects of audiometric testing. This will include audiometry (air and bone conduction) tympanometry & acoustic reflex testing. Undertake hearing aid assessment, fitting, validation and ongoing support of adults and families, with both analogue and DSP instruments according to MSE/department protocols. Take aural impressions on patients of all ages, according to British Society of Audiology recommended procedures. Undertake hearing aid validation using Real Ear Measurement systems, RECD, and free field testing as appropriate, and act appropriately on information obtained from insertion gain testing. Actively promote a patient focused approach and apply such principles throughout the service. Liaison with external agencies (e.g. Cochlear implant teams) as appropriate Modification of NHS hearing aids and ear moulds in all cases. Attendance at regular update meetings and training courses as appropriate. Involvement with the maintenance and calibration of technical equipment. Maintain patient records appropriately Assist in the maintenance of appropriate stock levels.
