If so, our Band 7 Clinical Lead role in our Assertive Outreach Team may be the role for you!

Our Brighton Assertive Outreach Team are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled practitioner.

We are a well-staffed multi-disciplinary team made up of Social Workers, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, a Psychologist, Psychiatrists, Support Workers, Peer Support Workers and a Pharmacy Technician. We operate as a team within a creative and flexible approach and provide shared responsibility of risk management to support our service users who have a primary diagnosis of psychosis. We run groups for service users and has a biopsychosocial approach to support and we are keen to find dynamic individual with leadership experience to join the team. We are happy to accept professionals from either an Occupational Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing or Social Work background, provided they can demonstrate that their professional can add unique value and clinical expertise to the role.

This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).

Main duties of the job

The AOT work with individuals who are difficult to engage. These individuals present with complex needs, including severe & enduring mental health needs, substance misuse, forensic issues and housing difficulties and may have often have had unsuccessful working relationships with mental health services in the past. The work we do with this group is so crucial and the job satisfaction we receive when we make a breakthrough with patients is incredible.

You will work alongside the Team Lead to provide management and leadership within an Assertive Outreach Team with a particular focus on providing a clinical leadership to provide/support staff to deliver high-quality care and a high-quality service within the resources available within a defined area. You will be supervising approximately half of the band 6 staff within the team. Your role will also involve being a lead practitioner for a relatively small, yet complex caseload. You will also undertake duty tasks including supporting patients in crisis and with medication related matters, with support from the medical staff.

The S.75 agreement between Brighton and Hove City Council and Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust has been in place for many years and has meant several Social Care staff have been co-located within the Trust to deliver statutory duties. This way of working in close partnership has been valued by both organisations, and by those that use our services, and this new agreement seeks to maintain and strengthen this collaborative way of working.
