We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will enjoy working closely with the local community, supporting the Imaging department as an Imaging Assistant. The post is based in our new Wembley community diagnostic centre, helping to supporting a diverse range of diagnostic procedures in CT and MRI. This post is also to support a new extended hours pilot taking place for 6 months. Once 6 month trial period is over you may be redeployed as an imaging assistant within the trust.

The successful applicant will be assisting radiographers, nurses, consultants and patients to maximize throughput and patient satisfaction. Extended day and weekend shift patterns are a requirement of the post. A flexible approach to work is therefore essential.

You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to cope with a very wide range of tasks including patient care, administrative and clerical duties, stock management and cleaning of equipment and rooms.

As an Imaging Assistant you will be an essential part of ensuring smooth service delivery. This will include:

1) To assist and support the professional staff within the Imaging Directorate2) To maintain a high standard of patient care by carrying out assigned tasks3) To provide an efficient and reliable system for throughput of patients ensuring that the activity and needs of the unit are achieved4) To overseeing training of junior imaging assistants

Your assigned tasks will broadly speaking be under four categories:

1) Clinical support2) Administrative and clerical Support3) Stock take and stock control support4) Cleaning and infection control precautions support
