To take charge of the Emergency Department when required to do so.
Barts Health is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK, it boasts 3Eemergency Departments, one of which is the Royal London Hospital. We are a major trauma centre and hyper-acute stroke unit providing urgent specialist treatment to North East London and beyond. We are an innovative team and work closely with our research colleagues to integrate pioneering, world class care and treatments, developing new pathways and services to provide efficient, patient centred approach to emergency medicine.The Royal London Emergency Department are proud winners of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, 2Clinical Team of the year. We feel this strongly reflects our on-going mission to strive for excellence and provide the best possible emergency services. Our department was also the winner of the ‘Barts health Hero Awards’ in 2/19 in the category of respectful.
The Royal London Emergency Department is looking for a forward thinking, highly motivated Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team within a busy and rewarding Major Trauma Centre.
- To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with the ED Nursing, Medical and Operations team to provide care that is safe and effective.
- Supports the example set by the senior sisters/charge nurses to act as a senior nurse providing organisation managerial support to the multi-professional team
- To act as a role model to junior members of staff
- To work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, trust policies, guidance and procedures to ensure safe working practice of self and others.
- To take charge of the Emergency Department when required to do so
- Strive to work within the national targets for Emergency Departments
- To line manage a group of Emergency Department Assistants and Staff Nurses
- To engage with Quality Improvement Projects to enhance patient and staff experience
