Salary: £24,119 pro rata, per annum (£22,980 - £23,761 for 35hours per week)
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
They have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.

The Role
An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Operations as a Cleaner Supervisor at St Marys High School Longbenton, Newcastle.
They are currently looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join their team as a Cleaning Supervisor.
There is the option for the successful applicant to reside in the onsite 3 bedroomed house (the rent is subsidised)
You will be required to work: -
Monday to Friday 6.30 8.30am and 1.30 6.30pm
You Will Be Responsible For
You will be expected to be able to deal with varying workloads and the cleaning of a defined area equating to fifteen hours per week. You must be able to manage your own time.
There will need to be a degree of flexibility around certain key events in the school calendar e.g., parents evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas, and summer fairs etc. which will be arranged at the start of the academic year. You will be expected to be available to undertake lettings for the school when required.

- the cleaning of an allocated area
- for the security of the premises, setting alarms, general health and safety issues relating to the building, as well as a range of porterage duties.

- Has good customer service skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with problems on site.
- Knowledge of cleaning standards with the ability to undertake cleaning tasks.
- Capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying of equipment, materials, furniture and climb ladders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Good spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively with the public.
- Experience of management/supervision of staff.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and how to apply them in the workplace.
- Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines.
- To succeed in this role, it is essential that you must be able to undertake the split shift requirements of the role.
