The Transplant ward is a busy 16 bedded Transplant ward which deals with patients:
Undergoing assessment for Transplant
Preparation for a Transplant operation
Acute post op Transplant care and recovery
Re admission with post Transplant complications
The Transplant ward in oxford is part of one of the largest centres in Europe? Oxford carries out Kidney, Pancreas, Kidney and Pancreas, Intestinal, Abdominal wall and Islet cell Transplants. We are one of only two centres in the UK carrying out Intestinal transplants and one of eight for Pancreas and we care for patients from all over the UK.
The ward is primarily a fast paced acute surgical ward with extensive learning opportunities.
About you
We are looking for motivated and caring nurses that thrive to work as a part of the team to provide high quality patient care. There is extensive in house training with a local professional development nurse and links to Brookes University to continue studies. We provide support to all staff members to support your development and orientation to the unit.

Main duties of the job
Provide exceptional patient care which is underpinned by evidence based practice.? Involve and work in partnership with the patients' family and friends to be actively involvedin the caring process on behalf of the patient where agreed.? Manage, direct and evaluate the nursing care for a defined caseload of patients.? Communicate effectively information to patients/relatives/carers/ and all members of themultidisciplinary team.? Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting the beliefs aboutprofessional nursing practice and patient care commensurate with The Oxford Model forExemplary Professional Nursing and Midwifery Practice.?
