Job summaryHighview and Aberdeen Park are 24hr staffed, 15 bed mixed community rehabilitation units situated in the London Borough of Islington. The units aim to provide quality rehabilitation and skill development for residents with severe and chronic mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
Residents have often had long or multiple admissions to inpatient care before moving to the units and the occupational therapist role is key for move-in and move-on from the projects. As such the occupational therapist is required to provide detailed assessments using the Model of Human Occupation, alongside graded interventions and group work.
We are looking for a new occupational therapist with excellent communication skills and a clear understanding of the recovery approach in working with people who have long-term mental health needs. The applicant will also require demonstrable experience in effective team working and supporting other staff to implement meaningful care plans

o Initial assessment and formulation using a range of specialist tools
o Make appropriate judgements about own caseload
