The role of Healthcare Support Worker - Outpatients at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust in Corfe Mullen is a permanent position within the Outpatients department at Poole Hospital, responsible for supporting a diverse patient population including children and adults during their clinical and surgical journeys. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate a compassionate approach to patient care, and have the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Required qualifications include a good standard of numeracy and literacy, as well as completion of a competency-based workbook (Care Certificate) or equivalent experience.

The position entails a variety of responsibilities, including assisting with patient care, performing basic clinical tasks, and maintaining effective communication with both patients and healthcare staff. A solid understanding of basic patient care practices, along with the ability to follow instructions and engage with patients compassionately, is essential.
