MIDLOTHIAN HSCP PHARMACY TEAM
Pharmacy Support Worker
2 wte: 37 hours per week
(flexible working and part time options will be considered)
Location: Midlothian H&S Care Partnership

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, to support key initiatives within Midlothian Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP). Working with Primary Care Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, GPs, other health and social care professionals and staff, this job will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to impact on prescribing and efficient use of medicines across the HSCP. The focus will be on realising medicines efficiencies initially, with care homes in Midlothian being central to this plan. The future will see you trained to integrate further with the Primary Care Team, delivering services to patients though our established structures, contributing to the safe and efficient use of medicines in Midlothian.
With National 4 (or equivalent) English, Mathematics and a Science (Biology or Chemistry) you will receive practical training to allow you to discharge the full responsibilities of the post. Underpinning this will be our commitment to supporting you in achieving the appropriate SVQ qualifications. The job of a pharmacy support worker can present the opportunity of future career development to become a registered Pharmacy Technician, registering as a professional in your own right. You will work on joint projects/initiatives within the HSCP as required and promote awareness of efficient prescribing whilst adhering to NHS Lothian’s Values.
