An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to join the Children and Young People’s division.
The postholder will work to work as a senior leader within the Children and Young People’s specialties and lead service improvements, alongside the Matron and Clinical Leads for services. The Children and Young People’s division has the opportunity to plan an expansion of services and ward areas, and we are looking for dynamic individuals to help make lasting improvements to the care of children and young people.
The postholder will have a large degree of autonomy, and opportunity to lead change and will work closely with the whole multi-disciplinary team to ensure services are delivered effectively and safely.
They will form part of the senior leadership team within Children and Young People’s Division and offer service, performance and strategic management as well as quality improvement expertise. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a commitment to improving children and young people’s care through operational delivery and collaborative leadership.
This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership across the organisation, the opportunity to lead on large scale projects management and career development opportunities.
The post holder’s overall aim will be to provide visible and proactive senior service management support to the whole division, and oversee and lead on projects/services within the Paediatric & Adolescent Division. This role will work closely as a triumvirate with nursing and medical leaders in general and adolescent specialties, to improve service provision and will oversee sound budget management of over £50m, with over 400 clinical and non-clinical staff within these specialties. The post holder will offer both senior programme management and quality improvement expertise.
This will include engaging with all relevant clinical teams and support services internal to UCLH and with external organisations such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and other North Central London partners. Reporting to the Deputy Divisional Manager, the General Manager is responsible for the operational management of all specialties and support functions within the division and delivery of performance targets including finance, activity and workforce, and others as applicable within these services.
The General Manager will work closely with the relevant Clinical Directors and Matron, as well as members of their clinical and managerial teams, to provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure services continue to improve and develop.
