Virtual Bridges is seeking Children's Residential Support Workers for part-time or full-time positions in Cardiff, offering a pay rate starting at £13.50 per hour, with additional holiday benefits. Candidates must be drivers with their own vehicles and have at least 12 months of experience in a children's residential setting, specifically working with children exhibiting emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD). The role involves delivering quality care and support to vulnerable children and serving as a positive role model to help them grow socially, personally, and academically.
Successful applicants will work as part of a dedicated team, requiring strong observational skills, creativity in problem-solving, and the capability to manage emotionally challenging situations with patience and resilience. While a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People is preferable, it is not mandatory, as training and opportunities for career progression will be provided. Children's Residential Support Worker
Contract: Part time OR Full time
Shifts: 12-hour shifts (days or nights)
Pay rate: From £13.50+ an hour (with additional holiday)
MUST be a driver with access to your own vehicle AND have residential experience with children who display EBD.
Brook Street Social Care have an exciting opportunity for experienced Children's Residential Support Workers to join an expanding team and work in residential children's services across Cardiff.
Permanent opportunities also available due to expansion is available with potential to progress with your career.
You will be working as part of a staff team to deliver quality care and support to vulnerable children and young people with emotional and behavioural issues. You will be a positive role model and will encourage children to grow and develop both personally and academically and with any extracurricular activities outside of school. In addition to this, you will have previous experience working with challenging behaviours.
All required training will be provided to you, and you will have opportunities to complete extra qualifications to progress in your career working with children. Ideally you will have a level 3 in Children and Young People however this is not essential.

- Have a strong desire to support children and young people
- Have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential.
- Be patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
- Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations.
- Be a team player and able to take direction and show initiative.
