THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR UPTO 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
Dental Core Training Post in Oral & maxillofacial Surgery who will work under the direction of the consultants in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. There will be daily contact with a multidisciplinary range of staff based on the ward, in the casualty Department, in operating theatres, Outpatients, from pharmacy and administrative staff.
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
Main duties of the job
- Patient examination and diagnosis
- Treatment Planning & Patient Management
- Health promotion & disease prevention
- Medical & dental emergencies
- Anaesthesia, sedation, pain & anxiety control
- Periodontal therapy & management of soft tissues
- Hard & soft tissue surgery
- Non-surgical management of the hard & soft tissues of the head & neck
- Management of the developing dentition

Qualifications Essential
- BDS or equivalent recognised qualification
- Have or be eligible for GDC Registration at the start date
- Be eligible to work in the UK
Desirable
- Working towards or already obtained postgraduate qualifications (MFDS, MJDF or equivalent)
- Portfolio containing evidence of progression and development of clinical skills and professional development.
Relevant Experience / Knowledge & Skills Essential
- Must provide evidence of completion of UK Dental Foundation training or recognised equivalent or exemption
- Must provide evidence of completion of DCT 2 training by the start date of the post.
- Must not have undertaken 18 months or more Dental Core Training
- Ability to work unsupervised during unsocial hours
- Must have 6 months OMFS rotation with on-call experience
- Must have at least 36 months postgraduate clinical experience by the time of post commencement.
Desirable
- Evidence of teaching experience, exposure to different group/teaching methods.
- Publications
- Undertaken presentations
