The Post
Some of the key duties of this role include working closely with the GPs and the third sector and the delivering of psychological therapies to patients in primary care.
It will also include opportunities to develop group interventions; deliver Stress Control classes, supported by 3rd sector; to offer appropriate support to common mental disorders likely to present in Primary Care settings, such as anxiety and mood disorders.
The Candidate
It would be expected that the successful candidate holds a MSc in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care.
Candidates should also have experience in applying short-term evidence-based models of psychological intervention – particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – to the common mild/moderate mental health problems presenting in Primary Care.
In addition, excellent communication and interpersonal skill are essential.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration:
This post will be based at The Balfour*
The successful candidate will work: 37 hours per week
This post is on a Fixed Term basis for 9 months to allow cover for a career break
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.
