An exciting opportunity has arisen within Older Peoples services at York Hospital. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into the Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse role on Ward 28. The successful candidate will have at least 18 months post registration experience in an acute environment.
This ward has 30 beds and provides quality holistic care for older adults and covers a range of various medical conditions incorporating the care of patients with dementia, Parkinson’s and those on the palliative care pathway.
We are seeking applications from highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who have excellent communication skills and are ready to broaden their knowledge and leadership skills. This post will give an opportunity for further professional development, and to embrace the challenge of working in a fast paced and diverse environment. We are looking for someone who is capable of lateral thinking and will work in an innovative manner with the resources available.
The post will support the band 7 to lead and to further enhance the team of senior nurses. Focusing on patient experience, patient safety and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time. We are proud to be a ward with a strong sense of collaboration across all our health professionals, working together to drive our service forward.
The candidate must be ready for a new challenge, have sound clinical knowledge and skills and be ready to take on the leadership role. We are a positive, friendly and supportive team and will welcome you and assist in your development within the role.
