Job Summary

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Long Term Conditions Team within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, supporting people in managing their long-term neurological condition e.g. MND, MS, Parkinson's, in the community.

Postgraduate experience of working with individuals with neurological conditions is essential as is the ability to work flexibly and proactively to deliver a prompt and clinically effective service.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to deliver a range of occupationally focused assessment and intervention techniques and will join a team that works with people in the community to deliver place-based support to prevent unnecessary admissions, maintain and improve the individual's functional abilities and overall quality of life.

The post offers opportunity to deliver a wide variety of assessments and interventions with individuals in their own homes, community locations as well as in clinic settings.

The post offers opportunities to be incredibly creative in treatment planning, and work with Individuals over focused periods of time to support them in achieving varied goals. In addition, the team will support you in developing knowledge, skills and experience in condition management, complex moving and handling, major adaptations and specialist seating.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
