Job Summary
We are currently looking to recruit a Band 3 Healthcare support worker in Dan y Bont.We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated person with experience of working with people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, behaviours which challenge, complex health needs and often a forensic history.Previous experience in a similar area of work will be beneficial, with knowledge and experience of implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) with individuals who may present with complex behaviours that challenge.Dan Y Bont is a complex care unit, which provides long-term care to patients who still require hospital provision.The team comprises of a unit manager, deputy, registered nurses and health care support workers. In addition to this the team will work alongside the inpatient multi-disciplinary team to work towards discharge to the community.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude towards supporting people with challenging behaviour and experience of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Candidates would assist in the provision of both personal and health care, contributing to comprehensive treatment plans for each individual.
Candidates would support individuals to access meaningful activities and recognise early warning signs that require care plan intervention.
Candidates must also be able to demonstrate commitment to developing their skills
