Job description
Job Summary
The Deputy Sister will work alongside the multi disciplinary team to ensure daily running of the unit.
They will prioritise the care required for each patient and their family,whilst delegating duties to others as appropriate.
The post holder will be directly involved with change management and audits.
Main duties of the job
Maintain an age and development appropriate environment that promotes safety, security and optimal health for the child and the family.
Facilitate and support the link worker role and support the development of other staff to undertake a link nurse role as designated by the Sister.
Lead and delegate mandatory and other audit as required by the Trust
Lead Unit meetings and deputise for Sister in their absence.
Act as a role model for junior members of the Team
Facilitate the cascading of information from other sources to junior and senior staff.

Role Summary
The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing the highest standard of patient care, and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the Childrens Day Case Unit, specifically focusing on the surgical side of the unit.
The post holder will prioritise care and delegate duties to others as appropriate, ensuring they are supervised and mentored responding effectively to the changing nature of the workload.
The post holder will continue to develop their own knowledge and skills through locally agreed personal development plans and facilitates the development of others.
The post holder will participate in change management and clinical audit within own area of work, and work in partnership with other agencies.
