The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for the Surgical Admissions Lounge at their Wythenshawe site. This role is open to current Band 5 nurses looking to advance in their careers, as well as experienced Band 6 and 7 nurses. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of clinical care and patient safety for elective surgical patients, while assisting the department manager with operational team management. A focus on continuous improvement, patient journey, and clinical outcomes is essential.
Candidates must hold a valid NMC pin and demonstrate strong leadership abilities, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and collaboration within the team. The Surgical Admissions Lounge at the Wythenshawe site of Manchester Foundation trust are currently looking to recruit a band 6 sister/charge nurse to our elective surgery admission department. This exciting opportunity is open to band 5's that are aspiring to take the next step and learn new skills. Current band 6's and 7's are also welcome to apply to join our welcoming team and department.
Our general surgical directorate has a reputation for the highest standards of clinical care.
Currently the surgical admissions lounge supports with the admission and patient flow of our elective surgical patients.

We are looking for a suitably experienced nurse who is passionate about patient safety and the delivery of exceptional quality care to our elective surgical patients.
You will be an aspiring leader with the ability to adopt a highly accessible and visible approach for patients, relatives and colleagues. You will assist the department manager with the operational management for the team working within the department. You will have the ability to develop a culture of continuous improvement with a particular emphasis on the patient journey and clinical outcomes.
