The York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering two new Community Midwife positions in York, aimed at providing tailored antenatal and postnatal care to women and birthing individuals facing vulnerabilities, such as asylum seekers and those with significant safeguarding issues. These roles focus on improving health equity within the York and Scarborough region, with responsibilities including implementing local policies, conducting audits to assess community impact, and collaborating with various stakeholders, including social care and safeguarding teams.

As Band 6 case-loading midwives, successful candidates will be passionate advocates for equality, possessing strong communication skills and an organized approach to service development. The roles are part of a three-year plan for maternity transformation within the Trust, and offer a range of employee benefits, including a generous pension scheme, holiday entitlements, relocation packages, and various learning opportunities.
