Pharmacy Assistant - dispensary based - Band 2
Full time 37.5 hours per week, over 7 days.
12 months fixed term contract
We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible person to join our very busy pharmacy department.
The pharmacy is open seven days a week 8am-6pm Monday to Friday & 9-5pm Saturday & Sunday
The post holder will be expected to participate in the weekend rota 1:6 weekends, working Saturday & Sunday with a day off each side of the weekend. You will also be rota's on the the late-night rota up to 6pm plus rotational bank holidays. 9-5pm
As an employer and sponsor licence holder, to be able to provide sponsorship to overseas nationals via the Skilled Worker route we must ensure that we adhere to the sponsorship requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration. After carefully reviewing this role, we do not believe that this position meets the requirements for sponsorship. To carry out general pharmaceutical duties in specified areas of the pharmacy department and on wards under the direction of the Chief Pharmacist and pharmacy general services manager (Chief Technician) to ensure that services are provided in a consistently high and professional manner which is complementary to a well-managed clinical pharmacy service, at all times ensuring that standards are maintained, particularly with respect to statutory professional and legal requirements, i.e.: -
All duties will be carried out in accordance with Trust policies and with regard to legal and safety requirements.
The Trust is a smoke free site, and therefore smoking will not be permitted anywhere within the grounds of the Trust.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and requires all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Successful candidate will be subject to appropriate checks by the Disclosure Barring Service.

- Undertake routine underpinning activities within the dispensary, stores and distribution areas to support safe and effective service.
- Provide the routine support necessary for the continuing supply service of pharmaceutical products, to the hospital and community clinics and other outlets.
- Provide dispensing, medicines management and risk management support.
- Assemble and over label medicines according to work sheets.
